Find His Perfect Guards
Answer a few quick questions and we’ll match your gymnast with the right guards for his apparatus, level and training load. It’s the same advice we give in store.
Is he Level 4 or above in gymnastics?
Recreational and beginner gymnasts usually don’t need a dowel grip yet, and that’s a good thing for growing hands.
Which apparatus does he need guards for?
High bar and ring guards are built differently, so a pair made for one should never be used on the other.
Is he Level 8 to 10, or training 20+ hours a week?
Heavy training loads outgrow standard leather. That’s where the Kevlar-reinforced Protec range comes in.
Velcro or buckle closure?
Velcro is quick and easy for younger gymnasts to manage on their own. Buckles give a firm, adjustable hold.
This is personal preference, or ask his coach.
