A Guide to the Fabrics We Use in Our Garments

At GMD Activewear, we’re all about creating gear that helps you feel and perform your best. Our fabrics are chosen for comfort, durability, and style, whether you’re training or competing. Each product description clearly lists the fabric used, so you’ll always know what you’re getting. Here’s a quick guide to the fabrics that make our garments stand out!

1. Luxe Fabric
Our Luxe fabric is a buttery soft, high-performance nylon elastane blend with 4-way stretch, perfect for training. It’s easy to care for, but avoid contact with abrasive surfaces like velcro. You’ll find “Luxe” in the product name, and it’s ideal for those with sensory sensitivities due to its softness and comfort.

2. Nylon Lycra
Nylon Lycra is our most durable, soft, and stretchy fabric, commonly used in leotards and shorts. It’s slightly thinner than Luxe, offers solid colours, and is great for long-lasting wear. Like Luxe, it’s also recommended for those with sensory sensitivities.

3. Mystique Fabric
Mystique fabric stands out with its shiny, foiled dot design, perfect for competitions. However, it’s more delicate and may feel itchy for some, so we don’t recommend it for sensory-sensitive customers. Best used for competition leotards/ occasional wear.

4. Active Edge Fabric
This solid-colour fabric is soft, durable, and easy to care for, with no shine. It’s great for regular training and recommended for those with sensory sensitivities thanks to its smooth, irritation-free fit.

5. Dynamic Fabric
Dynamic fabric is smooth and flexible, ideal for training. It’s sublimation-based, meaning the patterns are dyed on a white base, which can show a slight cast when stretched. Perfect for those who love vibrant, bold patterns.

Each product lists the fabric used, helping you choose the best option for your needs, whether it's the softness of Luxe, the durability of Nylon Lycra, or the colourful vibrancy of Dynamic!
